English Heritage
English Heritage commissioned the agency to raise awareness of their work in popularising our national heritage because of the team’s previous experience in promoting The National Trust.A number of key sites and activities in the South East and East of England were picked to typify the organisation’s work and to drive visitor numbers.
Projects included setting up a Good Housekeeping reader event at Ranger’s House in Greenwich, which boasts one of Europe’s finest jewellery collections. We organised a talk by the curator, a champagne lunch and an exclusive opportunity for readers to handle the jewels – normally kept safely behind lock and key. As well as achieving half a page of coverage in the magazine (a key target), the evens were a sell out success – so much so that three extra days were laid on to cope with demand.
Other activities undertaken for English Heritage include the promotion of the UK’s biggest St. George’s Day Festival, at Wrest Park in Bedfordshire; and the restoration of the gardens at Chiswick House, in west London, widely credited to be the birthplace of the English landscape movement.
